Still scorching

Today we visited Pointe du Hoc, battery Maisy and the German war cemetery at La Cambe before parking up at Isigny-sur-Mer. About 15km as the crow flies from last night's stop!

A gun of the correct type (155mm) on the emplacement (though not mounted) at battery Maisy. Amazingly, this site was buried in August 1944 (I don't know why) and not rediscovered until 2006, by an Englishman following up on oral histories of US Rangers!

La Cambe German Soldatenfriedenhof

Pointe du Hoc, which Rangers stormed on 6th June, only to find the guns gone!

Pointe du Hoc big hunks of concrete

Isigny-sur-Mer. There are 6 official pitches, but 36 motorhomes!

Can't beat a good sunset...
