Or just threaten to fall, as it actually got quite hot this afternoon despite the clouds. Hot enough to heat our mobile shower to 43 C so J could wash her hair. Very useful device, though we haven't found something other than my neck to hang it from.
We started the day with a visit to the beach at Barneville-Carteret. It's a magnificent stretch of sand spanning a touristy port. It's also where the US forces split the Cotentin peninsula in two so a bit of self-interest there. (Few if any signs of that side of its history though.) We walked along the quay, then sat down on the pier and had some lunch, watching the tide roll rapidly in.

After lunch we did a bit of a backtrack to where the US forces broke the German lines in Normandy. There is a museum dedicated to Op Cobra in Marigny but sadly it was shut due to Covid. We'll take a quick look at where the breakthrough took place tomorrow then head back to the coast.
We seem to have a problem with our handbreak. There was a loud twang that may have been a strand of the cable snapping and the brakes creak every time Reggie moves. Oh oh!
(1/3 of a month in and 1/2 of internet used. Not great. Where does it go? No way of telling as we have no monitoring software on the router.)
