Our two week managed isolation was in Hilton Chateau on the Park, a very nice hotel next to Hagley Park. Not bad, though Fox News in the states reported we were being kept in cages! J's good friend S sent relief packages, but of course no-one on my side knew I was there so nothing for me! We spent the time eating, watching rubbish TV, walking in the grounds or on the internet.
We got out with a clean bill of health and took a taxi to Mums. She saw J first then me - the expression 'jaw-dropping surprise' is a real thing! Once she got over the shock she started getting the family over with some vague story. Steve and Quentin both though she was going to tell them she had cancer. Anyway, it was a surprise for all the whanau and nice to see their faces!
