No, not Jude. We went to a mechanic to get the noise sorted in Reggie. First one was booked up but second was very obliging and looked at it straight away. Even came for a demo drive. It was, as suspected, a wheel bearing, though not the one I suspected. They've ordered a replacement which they will fit tomorrow, so fingers crossed we will be able to converse after that. Meanwhile, we park up and wait. There's worse places to be stuck for a day...
A shock to find our diesel up from around 1.40€ to 1.70€ after crossing back to France. Ouch.

wait until you get back to NZ. The tax on fuel is back so prices are 30c a litre more expensive.
