I had wanted to see cave paintings the whole trip, coming close a couple times, but being thwarted. Our return trip took us past one of the most famous sites: Lascaux. The are so precious a (number of) replicas have been made, and we visited the latest and most extensive.
Replica or not, I thought it was literally awesome. 20000 years ago our ancestors produced this!
