Oh come on, give it a rest!

We seriously considered taking the ferry to Sweden and in fact found a spot in Frederikshavn so as to be able to. However,  we revisited that idea when we saw the price and timetable (only cheap if you travel at midnight). I'm glad of it too.

Lovely fine white sand beach, and the water was warmish too.

Where to next then?

What's a day without a bunker. Actually this time it was J who suggested it, so don't blame me. We paid our money for the Bangsbo coastal battery museum then skilfully avoided the bits we'd paid for until after they'd shut. Bugger.

Guards must have been a lot shorter then

No, not a grounded vessel given we were about 100m above sea level. This torpedo-boat was cut in thirds and trucked up the hill to save it from the scrapyard. Rather an odd sight.

This is the first emplacement we've visited that was actually 'armed'.

Danish 150mm cannons would have made short work of that ferry

An AA emplacement to protect the fort

Some lovely houses down there, with very NZ styles amongst them

Crossing the Limfjord at Hals. This puts us back on the mainland.

We stopped for the night on the side of a fjord. Great internet so we could watch some Netflicks for the first time in ages.
