I doubt that most people even notice this Tobruk
Little holiday homes on the beach. Some need a bit of levelling work.
Fun on the water. It was a really calm day as you can see.
One of these things is not like the other...
The showroom...
Some have withstood the sea better than others
One of the shooty emplacements (others are ammo, dormatories, observation, etc)
And what better place for wedding photos?
I caught J having just put her cans back in her bag
We carried on and stopped at another lighthouse, Hirtshals. No para-gliders or abseilers this time, but of course there were bunkers as there was a harbour to protect.
Hirtshals lighthouse
Hirtshals coastal battery. The odd building to the rear-left housed the foghorns
It was all too much for J.
We couldn't get so close without visiting the tip of Denmark, where The Skaggerak meets the Kattegat. Nor, clearly, could half the rest of the world. Warning: more bloody bunkers.
It was like a pilgrimage
It was a lovely day which helps, but we were still surprised.
A foot in each sea. Glad we were the only people to ever think of it.
Just like a beached whale
That was quite interesting and you should be thankful we didn't go to the bunker museum here as well. We still needed somewhere to stay so we found a lovely spot near a beach.
Walking through the dunes we saw this spooky mist. Cool.
