A palace, a wiper, and rain

Not too much to see on this island except another palace: Valdemar Slot. This was a prince's palace until the King found himself a little short of cash to pay out an admiral's prize duties. (Such was the scale of the naval victory that the 10% owed would have cleared the coffers.)  The land and palace were given instead and remained in the family since then.

Lovely view of the pool and outbuildings.

The palace building. Btw, lawns are mowed by the ubiquitous robot

During the drive we had the unusual problem of a broken windscreen wiper. Fortunately a bit of duct tape tided us over to a mechanic who sold and fitted a replacement. No rip-off like the last lot!

We stopped on the outskirts of Odense, Denmark's second city. We were entertained by thunder, lightening and heavy rain. We have been watching a Netflix series called Happy! It has the feel of a comic book derivation, and is unusual to say the least. High body count so  be warned.
