Cannonball Run 3

A quite day in Dieppe, holed up waiting for the ferry. The streets around the port were closed for a street market: sort of a car boot sale with no cars. We bought nothing.

We strolled most of the day, then I had a go at the inverter. My multimeter proves there's AC going in, and the fuses are all OK, so we are into a more expensive fix now, and who knows how long? Or we may just have to buy a new one.

I went up to the viewpoint on the cliffs overlooking the port. German guns had the port entrance and northern beach well covered back in '42, though I suspect some of the German concrete was from after the bloody raid in August 1942.

German concrete

A commanding view

Reggie at centre bottom of shot. Plenty of spaces now but chocka when we arrived yesterday.

We catch the ferry at midnight tonight. Four hours to Blighty where we will hole up in the port 'til morning. Our MoT is Tuesday avo, so we have little time to kill.
