We then had tea and cake. The cakes looked delicious but were both vegan and overly sweet (yes, you heard it from this mouth) so all four of us were disappointed! Not much of a smile from the server either so an underwhelming afternoon tea. Had we walked a few yards further we may have got a better deal, but that's life.
We spent a bit on taxis to and from and won't be able to do that with any regularity! Claire came to the campsite and played games (managing to convert our cooperative board game to a competitive one) before heading off.
We had breakfast with her this morning, then said our goodbyes and headed to the port, stopping in a park a little before it. I spent an unpleasant hour on Vodafone's support trying to make sure we weren't double-charged for our tracker again: A few swear words there, as I lost the connection twice, so had to go through the whole story three times. Then we biked into Harwich for a look - some lovely defences there including a radar site, observation posts and at least one gun emplacement. 8^) Judi seemed to enjoy her electric bike.
We are now parked up in the port waiting for our morning ferry. The park is free and we are not alone. I suspect it may get noisy but they'll finish loading the previous sailing well before bed time. That ferry has just this minute arrived as it happens.
