After a small breakfast of fresh croissants we did bits and pieces on the MH (J has decided to call it Reggie, so I may have to fall in line) then biked into the city. It's a lovely place, criss-crossed with canals and very bike friendly.

We went to a museum that was the home of William of Orange when he was assassinated during the Dutch rebellion. The two bullet holes in the wall (the bullets having passed through William) are still there to see, though somewhat enlarged over the years by souvineering. There was an exhibition on Mojo Productions, who bring huge bands to Holland such as Queen, U2, etc. Part was a virtual reality tour of the backstage area of a concert which was pretty cool. Another showed a timelapse of the set up, concert and tear down of a U2 stage.

We biked a little bit more then headed home to sit in the sun reading. My current read is a Mark Twain book (co-authored with Charles Dudley Warner), The Gilded Age, and I am enjoying it a lot. They are very scathing about the workings of the US Government in the late 19th C and I guess that very little has changed since. Some of their turns of phrase are very funny (mostly Twain's it would appear) and much of the satire is subtle rather than a smack in the face. It should be compulsory reading for students of American politics.

[I'm going to start rating showers. 5 points for temperature, 5 for flow, 5 for pressure and 5 for cleanliness, for a total of 20. So our own one will get 5 for temp, 2 for flow, 2 for pressure and 3 for cleanliness (the latter marked down because it is full of stuff at the moment), so a total of 12/20. Delft scores a 5+3+4+5=17.]
